Jessica McPheters, Collections Manager has over six years of experience working as a collections steward at various types of museums and historical societies. She received her B.A. in History from San Diego State University in 2013. After graduation, Jessica was hired as a Collections Assistant at the Coronado Historical Association and Museum. Her passion for artifacts, collections, and museum work led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Museum Studies with a specialization in Collections Management from the Johns Hopkins University. Once she completed her program, she moved to Northern Illinois and became the Exhibit & Collections Curator at the Midwest Museum of Natural History in Sycamore, Illinois. While at MMNH, Jessica managed the natural history collections and developed rotating exhibitions for the Museum. After three years as Curator, she was offered a position as the Collections Technician at the Chicago History Museum and spent two years working closely with the Museum’s Collections Manager, managing and processing collections.
Suzanne Moramarco, Lead Collections Technician and Library Specialist has over thirteen years of experience curating collections for the Center and supervising volunteers and interns in the Center Library. She received her B.A. in Anthropology from Scripps College, Claremont, CA. After a career in Graphic Design and employment in the Early Childhood Development field, Suzanne entered the Library Technology Program at Palomar College. In earning her Certificate as a Library Technology Assistant, she completed a Library internship at the Center. She has also obtained a Geographical Information Systems Certificate of Proficiency, from Palomar College.
