Scouting Programs
Scouts BSA Archaeology Merit Badge Program
This exciting, hands-on program provides the information and experience to fulfill requirements 2, 3, 4b*, 5, 6, 8b, and 9b of the merit badge requirements, including:
- Excavation unit mapping and artifact analysis
- An experimental archaeology project
- A fun and informative power point lecture on archaeology
- A certified Merit Badge Counselor will be able to sign off on the above completed activities, as well as prerequisites 1, 4a, 4b*, 7*, 10, 11.
Prerequisites not completed prior to the workshop may be submitted by appointment at a later date.
4b* Time will be allotted for scouts to present their selected site to the group, or bring proof of prior completion.
7* If scouts would like to complete 7a at the Center museum, please allow for time to do so immediately before or after the merit badge workshop.
